National Thrift Shop Day
On Thursday, August 17, 2017, Housing Works will celebrate National Thrift Shop Day at their 13 Thrift Shops located throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. The shops will have special sales, raffles, and treats all day long.
Each location will have a featured $10 clothing rack filled with one-of-a-kind items and customers will receive a sweet gift with their purchase during Dessert Happy Hour from 5pm to 7pm. Event partners include Abigail’s Bakeshop, Ample Hills Creamery, Amy’s Bread, Baked by Melissa, Billy’s Bakery, Brooklyn Farmacy, Doughnut Plant, Magnolia Bakery, Sugar Sweet Sunshine, The City Bakery, The Sweet Shop, and Two Little Red Hens.
Housing Works’ Gramercy shop will be partnering with donateNYC and be the first stop on a 23rd Street Thrift Crawl. The Crawl begins at 5:00pm and registered event attendees will receive 25-percent off their purchase throughout the night.
DeVonne of “It’s on with DeVonne” will be hosting a shopping event at Housing Works’ Buy the Bag location from 6pm to 8pm. Guests can fill a shopping bag of clothing for $25, enjoy ice cream from Brooklyn Farmacy, and shop a curated collection of clothing and accessories put together by Dvonne.
Proceeds from each sale will benefit the organization’s mission to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS.
